4Pointe for Adult Dancers
-
The four classes will focus on many of the most important elements of the 4Pointe method. The classes are tailor-made for you so that you can do them in your home or apt, or a small space or dance studio. All you will need is a ballet barre and a 22cm Pilates ball. The class will play at a tempo you can easily follow. These classes will help you to build strength and improve where and how to stand on pointe so that you do not sink into the shoe. We will look at the importance of how one goes up and down from pointe through the center of the foot, while not rolling on the inside or outside of the foot. In these classes we will work the ankle, the intrinsic muscle and both the fore and hind foot as well as the calves and legs. We will work on developing quality and precision. We will also develop our articulation and make the foot ready to transfer weight, which is the beginning of movement, coordination and change of dynamic.
-
You will gain a better alignment of the foot and leg. Your strength of both inner and outer muscles of the leg will improve.
You will increase strength in both your Demi pointe and pointe work.
Your jumping and landings will be better.
You will develop and build strength in the intrinsic muscle underneath the foot.
Your articulation, ability to roll through pointe and your coordination in the legs and feet will all improve.
4Pointe for Male Dancers
-
This will be a beginner-intermediate level and will focus on many of the most important elements in the 4Pointe method. These classes are made for those who have male physiques as the structure of the developed leg and foot of a male in Ballet is different. So I feel there is a need for different and specific exercises. This is in no way a political statement. You are free with this membership to attend any of the courses I offer online and hope you will find the one that suits your need the best in case this one does not. These classes are tailor made for you so that you can do them in your home or apt, or in a small space or dance studio. All you will need is a ballet barre and a 22cm Pilates ball. The goal of these classes is to build strength in the feet. I have found that many male dancers I have worked with take most of the work in their thighs. So I would like to help you know how to stand on pointe so that you do not sink into the shoe while standing on it. We will look at the importance of how you need roll up and down from pointe through the center of the foot while not rolling on the inside or outside of the foot. We will also focus on making sure that you work from the feet and not from the thighs. In this class we will work the ankle, the intrinsic muscle and both the fore and hind foot. All the exercises in this class will be done both in 6th position with the ball and without and in the traditional classical positions. We will work on developing quality, articulation and precision.
